We live in the heart of a major metropolitan area, but each year for one day the Greater Oakton Community Association makes Oakton feel a little bit like a small town with Oakton Day in the Park.
This is a free community celebration that brings neighbors together for an afternoon of live music, delicious food, games, children's activities, and family-friendly entertainment. Visitors can tour the historic Oakton Schoolhouse, meet local nonprofits and community organizations, connect with area businesses, and enjoy the welcoming spirit that makes Oakton such a wonderful place to call home.
Whether you're new to the community or have lived here for decades, Oakton Day is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and celebrate everything that makes our community unique so join us on Sunday, August 30 from 1 - 4 pm at Oakton Community Park. Bring your family, invite your neighbors, and don't forget a lawn chair so you can relax and enjoy the live music!
Now in its sixth year, Oakton Day in the Park has become one of the community's signature traditions, reflecting GOCA's mission to build community, foster civic pride, and strengthen the connections that make Oakton a special place to live.
